CAS:Trichloroacetic acid is a sodium salt that is used to dissolve proteins in biological samples. It is also used as a disinfectant and antiseptic. Trichloroacetic acid has been shown to be toxic to cells by inhibiting the synthesis of DNA duplexes, leading to cell death. The use of trichloroacetic acid for this purpose has been studied in wild-type strains and in human serum. Trichloroacetic acid is often used together with sodium trifluoroacetate, which increases the solubility of the molecule and helps it penetrate tissue better.Formula:C2HCl3O2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:163.39 g/molRef: 3D-FT179118

CAS:Protein precipitation reagentTrichloroacetic acid is used as a precipitating agent in biochemistry for precipitation of proteins, DNA and RNA. It is an active ingredient used in cosmetic treatments like chemical peels, tattoo removal and the treatment of warts including genital warts. It is also used to determine protein concentration and as a decalcifier and fixative in microscopy.
