It is produced by condensation of 2-bromo-3-nitrobenzoic acid with carbon disulfide in the presence of an acceptor molecule. This chemical process can be carried out at room temperature and produces high yields. 3-Ethylrhodanine has been shown to have a variety of electrochemical applications, such as nature, devices, morphology and efficiencies.
