3-Bromo-N-phenylpropanamide is a synthetic compound that inhibits the kinase activity of growth factor-β. It has been shown to have inhibitory activity against cell proliferation. 3-Bromo-N-phenylpropanamide has also been shown to be an analogue of pyrazole, which is a type of inhibitor that binds to the ATP binding site of kinases, preventing phosphorylation and activation of downstream proteins. 3-Bromo-N-phenylpropanamide is a type 1 receptor antagonist. The drug blocks the interaction between growth factor receptors and their ligands, thereby inhibiting cell proliferation in cancer cells, which makes it useful for the treatment of colon cancer.
