It has significant cytotoxicity against leukemia cells and colon carcinoma. 3-Amino-5-(hydroxymethyl)phenol has been shown to be effective against human breast carcinoma xenografts, which are tumors transplanted from humans into mice. This drug also has an antitumor effect against other types of cancers and cross-resistance with taxol and anilino, both of which have anticancer effects.
