This product has been shown to be cytotoxic against subtilis, which are Gram-positive bacteria that are not affected by other antibiotics. Ethyl 5-[2-Chloro-4-(Trifluoromethyl)Phenoxy]-2-Nitrobenzoate has also been found to inhibit nuclear DNA synthesis and fatty acid synthesis in plants.
