Sodium Sorbate
CAS:Formula:C6H7NaO2Purity:>98.0%(T)Color and Shape:White to Light yellow powder to crystalMolecular weight:134.11Sorbic acid sodium salt
CAS:Sorbic acid sodium salt is an analytical reagent that has been used to study the genotoxic activity of the benzalkonium chloride (BAC) preservative. The BAC provides a protective barrier against the growth of microorganisms, while sorbic acid prevents bacterial spoilage. Sorbic acid sodium salt is also used as a food preservative and in vaccines. It has been shown to be effective against Candida glabrata and other fungi at concentrations between 0.1% and 0.5%. Sorbic acid sodium salt has also been shown to inhibit the production of p-hydroxybenzoic acid by bacteria, while potassium sorbate inhibits the production of benzoates. Chromatographic analysis can be used to detect the presence of these compounds in samples.Formula:C6H7O2·NaPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:134.11 g/mol
