It can be used to activate the biochemical properties of sephadex G-100 and collagen, which are proteins that are essential to the structural integrity of cells. 4-Aminobenzamidine hydrochloride stimulates biochemical reactions in lung fibroblasts by binding to an enzyme called proteinase. This leads to the activation of proteases, which are enzymes that break down proteins into smaller units. The resulting small peptides stimulate cell proliferation, differentiation, and maturation. 4-Aminobenzamidine hydrochloride has been shown to inhibit collagenase activity in vitro and in vivo.
