CAS:Strontium fluoride is used as an optical material for a small range of special applications. It also used as use is as a carrier of strontium-90 radioisotope in radioisotope thermoelectric generators. This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. The original Alfa Aesar product / item code or SKU reference has not changed as a part of the brand transition to Thermo Scientific Chemicals.Formula:F2SrPurity:99%Molecular weight:125.62Strontium Fluoride, 99.99% (Metal Basis), Puratronic™
CAS:Strontium fluoride is used as an optical coating on lenses, and as a thermoluminescent dosimeter crystal. It also finds use as a water insoluble strontium source for use in oxygen-sensitive applications such as metal production. It serves both as a source of strontium and fluoride. CAS:Strontium fluoride (SrF) is a chemical compound that has been shown to be thermodynamically stable and is used in the process of protein synthesis. It is also used as a radiation source for photomultiplier tubes, which are devices that measure radiation. Strontium fluoride can emit light when heated at high temperatures, which can be used to produce hydrogen fluoride (HF) and hydrochloric acid (HCl). The heat-induced emission of light from SrF is due to the release of electrons from the strontium atom, with the subsequent formation of an electron-hole pair. This electron-hole pair recombines, emitting photons in the visible spectrum.Formula:SrF2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:125.62 g/molStrontium fluoride (99.99%-Sr) PURATREM
