  • Indium(III) fluoride, anhydrous, 99.95% (metals basis)

    CAS:
Indium(III) fluoride is used in the preparation of non-oxide glasses. It acts as a catalyst in the reaction of trimethylsilyl cyanide (TMSCN) to aldehydes to get cyanohydrins. It play a vital role as a catalyst in organic synthesis to prepare fluorine containing 2,4,5-trisubstituted imidazoles and polysubstituted pyrroles. This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. The original Alfa Aesar product / item code or SKU reference has not changed as a part of the brand transition to Thermo Scientific Chemicals.

  • Indium(III) fluoride

    CAS:
Indium(III) fluoride is an inorganic compound that is a polyhedron of the orthophosphoric acid anion. It has a crystalline structure with hydrogen bonding between molecules and polyhedral units, which results in a high melting point. Indium(III) fluoride has been used to synthesize imidazole derivatives, such as 2-methylindenyl fluoride, by reacting it with ammonia or methyl amines. The compound shows fluorescence and proton NMR spectra and has been used as a molecular probe for hydrogen bonds. Indium(III) fluoride is also centrosymmetric.
