CAS:4,4'-Diacetylbibenzyl is a monomer that can be used in the preparation of polymers. The monomer is prepared by cyclodehydration of 2-methyl-2-butene and subsequent acetylation with acetic anhydride. 4,4'-Diacetylbibenzyl has been shown to react rapidly with aldehydes, alcohols, and methacrylates to form polymeric adducts. It also reacts with nucleophilic amines to form stable N-substituted bibenzimidazoles. 4,4'-Diacetylbibenzyl can be polymerized using radical initiators or photoirradiation. This monomer undergoes dimerization reactions at high temperatures when exposed to vinyl groups and thiourea.Formula:C18H18O2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:266.34 g/mol
