5-Phenyl-o-toluidine
CAS:5-Phenyl-o-toluidine is an isomer of o-toluidine. When ta100 cells were exposed to 5-phenyl-o-toluidine at concentrations of 1.0, 10.0, and 100.0 μg/mL for 24 hours, the mutagenicity was increased with the concentration of the chemical. The mutagenicity in rat liver cells was also increased when it was exposed to 0.1 ppm of 5-phenyl-o-toluidine for 24 hours. A study investigated the mutagenic activity in vitro using s. typhimurium TA100 and found that it induced mutations in this strain at a concentration of 1 μg/mL or higher, but not in other strains such as E. coli WP2 uvrA, WP2 uvrB or S9 mix (S9).
