CAS:Warfarin is a coumarin that is used as an oral anticoagulant. It has been in use for over 50 years and is still the most widely prescribed drug for the prevention of thromboembolic disease. Warfarin inhibits the synthesis of vitamin K-dependent clotting factors II, VII, IX, and X. This inhibition leads to a prolonged prothrombin time and increased bleeding time. Warfarin also prevents blood from clotting by inhibiting platelet aggregation. The molecular weight of Warfarin is 798 Da, which corresponds to its molecular weight heparin (MWH) binding site. Warfarin has a narrow therapeutic window and requires careful monitoring by measuring prothrombin time in order to prevent adverse effects such as excessive bleeding or blood clots. Warfarin also interacts with many drugs, including aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen, which can lead to increased risk of bleedingFormula:C19H16O4Purity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:White Slightly Brown Clear LiquidMolecular weight:308.33 g/molWarfarin
