    1-Hexadecanoyl-2-[cis-9-octadecanoyl]-sn-glycero-3-[phospho-(1,2)-rac-(1,3)-glycerol]ammoniumsalt (PDMP) is a fatty acid molecule that is classified as a synthetic antimicrobial. This molecule has been shown to have minimal inhibitory activity against gram-positive bacteria and gram negative bacteria. PDMP has been shown to be active against P. aeruginosa in the presence of serum, and also inhibits the growth of this species at higher concentrations. PDMP was found to be active against E. coli and K. pneumoniae when tested with a spectrometry analysis technique that detects fatty acids in cell membranes. PDMP was also found to inhibit the growth of Fusobacterium nucleatum, which is an opportunistic bacterium associated with periodontal disease.br>br> PDMP is used as
