    CAS:
    Nitrilotripropionic acid is a glycol ether that has antimicrobial properties. It is stable in the presence of light and does not decompose when heated to 80°C, making it suitable for pharmaceutical preparations. Nitrilotripropionic acid has shown to be effective against microbial infection and cancer tissue, but not against metal chelate complexes or other acids. The MICs of nitrilotripropionic acid range from 0.5-2.0 μg/mL, depending on the microorganism tested. The MICs are determined using a microdilution method in vitro or by titration calorimetry using an analytical method.
