Cornuside has immunomodulatory, and anti-inflammatory activities, it has protective potential against cerebral ischemic injury, may be due to the suppression of intracellular Ca(2+) elevation and caspase-3 activity, and improvements in mitochondrial energy metabolism and antioxidant properties. Cornuside can treat myocardial I/R and protect the liver from CCl₄-induced acute hepatotoxicity, by reducing oxidative stress and suppressing inflammatory responses.

Rehmannioside C is an iridoid glucoside. Rehmannioside C has been isolated from Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata[1].

RhMannioside C is an extract from the Chinese herbal medicine formula Rhizoma Radix et Rhizoma Rhei, which contains the active ingredients jatrorrhizine and protocatechuic acid. This extract has been shown to have anti-cancer effects on human breast cancer cells in vitro by inhibiting protein synthesis and inducing apoptosis. It also has hypotensive properties and can be used as a dietary supplement for lowering blood pressure. The mechanism of action of RhMannioside C is not clear, but it may be due to its ability to inhibit protein synthesis or bind to the protein target in the cell membrane.
