CAS:1,8-Dichloroanthraquinone is a synthetic compound that is used in the production of cellulose acetate. It has been shown to react with hydrogen ions and form a protonated 1,8-dichloroanthraquinone intermediate that undergoes an electrochemical reaction. The carbonyl group of this intermediate reacts with nitric oxide to form nitrosobenzene, which can then be oxidized by oxygen to form nitrate. 1,8-Dichloroanthraquinone also reacts with fatty acids to produce dinitrotoluene, which can be denitrified by reacting with hydrogen peroxide. This reaction produces nitrogen gas and water. The crystal structure of the compound has been studied using x-ray crystallography and nmr spectroscopy.Formula:C14H6Cl2O2Purity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:Slightly Yellow PowderMolecular weight:277.1 g/molRef: 3D-FD00562
