1-(Naphthalen-1-yl)pyrrolidine is a synthetic androgen receptor modulator. It can be used to treat osteoporosis, as well as other conditions that are caused by the lack of androgens or their activity, such as male hypogonadism, breast cancer, prostate cancer, and depression. 1-(Naphthalen-1-yl)pyrrolidine has been shown to bind to the androgen receptor with high affinity (Ki = 0.2 nM). This drug binds to the N-terminal domain of the human androgen receptor in an irreversible manner. It is also a potent inhibitor of 5 alpha-reductase type I enzyme.
