Ganciclovir
CAS:Ganciclovir is an antiviral drug that inhibits viral DNA synthesis, leading to cell death. It is used for the treatment of cytomegalovirus retinitis, herpes zoster (shingles), and condyloma acuminata. Ganciclovir is also used as a preventative measure against opportunistic infection with HIV or CMV in people with AIDS. It is given intravitreally, by injection into the eye, with human immunoglobulin G (IgG) to prevent CMV in persons who have been exposed to it. The combination therapy group includes ganciclovir and acyclovir. Drug interactions can occur when ganciclovir is administered intravenously with heparin-containing solutions or drugs containing polymyxin B sulfate or colistimethate sodium. Ganciclovir has shown antiviral resistance in SCC cells and may lead to neuronal death when used on rats inFormula:C9H13N5O4Purity:Min. 98 Area-%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:255.23 g/molGanciclovir, 98%

CAS:Ganciclovir is an antiviral agent specifically designed for culture media use. It is a synthetic analogue of 2'-deoxy-guanosine, derived from nucleoside compounds, and operates primarily by inhibiting the replication of viral DNA. Its mode of action involves selective phosphorylation by viral kinases, which converts it into ganciclovir triphosphate, a potent inhibitor of viral DNA polymerase, ultimately preventing viral DNA synthesis. In scientific settings, Ganciclovir is frequently employed in the selective inhibition of viral replication within culture media, allowing for precise studies of cellular or viral interactions without interference from unwanted viral proliferation. Its specificity makes it an invaluable tool for virologists and molecular biologists conducting research in environments where control of viral replication is crucial. The precision in its application assists in obtaining clear, unconfounded results, particularly in studies related to viral pathogenesis and the development of antiviral therapies.Formula:C9H13N5O4Purity:Min. 98.0 Area-%Molecular weight:255.23 g/molGanciclovir
