CAS:7-Aminonaphthalene-1,3-disulfonic acid is an analytical reagent that is used for the detection of glycosidic bonds. It reacts with aldehydes and ketones to form a fluorescent product. This reaction solution can be analyzed by FTIR spectroscopy or on-line fluorescence detection. 7-Aminonaphthalene-1,3-disulfonic acid has been shown to react with glycosidic bonds in oligosaccharides, glycopeptides, and polysaccharides. This reaction product can be detected by a fluorometer or by using a UV detector at 280 nm. 7-Aminonaphthalene-1,3-disulfonic acid is also used as a reagent in analytical chemistry for the determination of fatty acids.
