Lithium phenyl(2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyl)phosphinate is a disulfide bond reductant that can be used to reduce the disulfide bonds in proteins. Lithium phenyl(2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyl)phosphinate has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of human hepatic cells and reverse the accumulation of lipids in these cells. It also has antiviral properties and has been shown to inhibit HIV-1 replication in vitro.
