  • Cyclopropyl(4-nitrophenyl)sulfane

    CAS:
Cyclopropyl(4-nitrophenyl)sulfane is a compound that has electron-withdrawing groups and belongs to the group of organosulfur compounds. It is used as a precursor for the synthesis of potassium cyclopropylboronates, which are used in catalytic reactions with copper. The reaction was first reported by R. T. Jones and co-workers in 1961. This reaction is also known as the Jones Reagent Reaction or the Jones Borane Reaction, and it results in the formation of thiophenols when potassium or potassium salts are used as catalysts. Cyclopropyl(4-nitrophenyl)sulfane can also be reacted with thiophenols and sulfides to generate cyclopropyl sulfides.
