9,10-Bis[(triisopropylsilyl)ethynyl]anthracene is a type of organic molecule. It is a colorless solid that can be used for many purposes. 9,10-Bis[(triisopropylsilyl)ethynyl]anthracene has been shown to undergo both photosensitive and thermally induced ring-opening reactions. This compound also shows high activity in the catalytic oxidation of epoxides to form ketones and carboxylic acids. 9,10-Bis[(triisopropylsilyl)ethynyl]anthracene has two crystal structures, which are called polymorphs. The theory behind these polymorphs is the same as other molecules with more than one form of crystal structure: the difference in energy between the two forms allows them to exist together at equilibrium.
