Methyl 2,4,5-trichlorobenzoate

Methyl 2,4,5-trichlorobenzoate is a regulator insecticide that exhibits high activity against nematodes and insects. It has been shown to be a potent nematicidal agent in laboratory tests. Methyl 2,4,5-trichlorobenzoate is an active compound that has been used to control soil-borne plant pathogens. The methyl ester of this compound is highly toxic to saprophytic fungi and bacteria. This chemical also has the ability to inhibit the growth of bacteria in the soil by interfering with amine biosynthesis and with the metabolism of nitrogenous compounds. Methyl 2,4,5-trichlorobenzoate also inhibits the synthesis of proteins in plants so that they are not able to grow properly.
