3-Acetyl-2-oxo-2H-chromen-4-yl difluoridoborate is a chelating agent that contains the boron atom in its structure. This compound has an intramolecular coordination pattern with boron atoms and facilitates the formation of hydrogen bonds with water molecules, which makes it more soluble than boric acid. 3-Acetyl-2-oxo-2H-chromen 4 yl difluoridoborate has shown activity against methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It is also believed to be a potential anticancer drug because of its ability to inhibit protein synthesis in cells.
