(E)-[6]-Dehydroparadol is an analog of dehydroparadol that has been synthesized to have increased anticancer potential. It is a synthetic compound with an inhibitory effect on tumor cells in vitro. (E)-[6]-Dehydroparadol inhibits the growth of cancer cells by inhibiting the production of fatty acids and amines, which are needed for cell survival and proliferation. This compound also prevents the synthesis of carbohydrates, which are essential for cell growth. In vivo studies have shown that (E)-[6]-dehydroparadol has anticancer effects on mice when administered orally, but does not decrease tumor size or weight. It has also been found to be carcinogenic in vitro studies using rats and mice as test subjects.
