It has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells by blocking the production of epidermal growth factor and other cellular processes. 2,3,4,5-Tetrachloronitrobenzene also inhibits the production of nitric oxide in the body and reduces oxidative stress in cells. 2,3,4,5-Tetrachloronitrobenzene is metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes and can act as an acid transporter in the body. 2,3,4,5-Tetrachloronitrobenzene also binds to epithelial cell markers such as EGFR or EGF receptors and causes cell proliferation or migration.
