3BDO is a bactericidal antibiotic that belongs to the class of rifamycins. It has been shown to have potent activity against squamous carcinoma cells, and also inhibits autophagy. 3BDO has been shown to be effective in treating kidney fibrosis by inhibiting mitochondrial membrane potential. This drug has also been found to be a potential drug target for the treatment of pathogenic mechanisms in human serum and cell lysis, which may be due to its ability to inhibit signal pathways.
