(2-Cyclopropylpyrimidin-5-yl)boronic acid is an immunosuppressive drug that inhibits cellular growth by inhibiting the synthesis of dihydroorotate. This agent has been shown to inhibit viral replication in vitro and may be effective against Plasmodium falciparum. In addition, (2-cyclopropylpyrimidin-5-yl)boronic acid has been shown to suppress cellular growth and induce cell death in vitro. The mechanism of action is not well understood, but this compound binds to a number of enzymes, including dehydrogenase, which may be involved in the process of cellular metabolism. (2-Cyclopropylpyrimidin-5-yl)boronic acid is used as a medicinal agent for the treatment of autoimmune diseases and inflammatory conditions.
