CAS:Chlorodiphenylmethane is a member of the class of aliphatic hydrocarbons. It is an inhibitor of inflammatory bowel disease and has been shown to be effective in patients with ulcerative colitis. Chlorodiphenylmethane can inhibit inflammatory bowel disease through a number of different mechanisms, including inhibition of the production of cytokines, such as IL-1β and TNF-α, by inhibiting the activation of NF-κB. The mechanism for this inhibition is not fully understood but may involve nucleophilic attack on the carbonyl group on the aromatic ring, which leads to hydrogen fluoride or hydroxyl groups being released from the molecule. The reaction mechanism is thought to be one where hydrogen fluoride or hydroxyl groups are released from the molecule and oxidized radicals are formed. These radicals then react with oxygen in air to form reactive oxygen species (ROS), which cause damage to DNA, proteins, and lipids inFormula:C13H11ClPurity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:Clear LiquidMolecular weight:202.68 g/molRef: 3D-FC31692
