CAS:3-Methyl-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxylic acid is a compound that is involved in the biosynthesis of amides. It is activated by reaction with phenyl boronic acid and this activated form can be synthesised. 3MPCA was shown to inhibit bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, which maintain the integrity of bacterial DNA, and it was also shown to have cross-resistance with other pyrrole-2-carboxylic acids. This molecule has been shown to be capable of inducing supercoiled structures in DNA and can bind magnesium ions. 3MPCA has a supramolecular architecture consisting of three histidine residues that are coordinated through hydrogen bonds to an unsymmetrical magnesium ion. These histidine residues are also coordinated with three magnesium ions through hydrogen bonds and these coordination interactions are stabilizing for the molecule.Purity:Min. 95%Ref: 3D-FM13053
