5-Methyl-2-piperazinone HCl is an efficient synthetic intermediate that can be used for the synthesis of amines, cyclization, and reductive coupling. It is prepared by the reaction of methyl piperazine with aqueous hydrochloric acid to give 5-methyl-2-piperazinone.
