    Aprotinin is a pharmacological agent that inhibits the activity of enzymes such as plasmin, kallikrein, and trypsin. It is used to prevent or reduce the severity of ischemia-reperfusion injury in heart surgery. Aprotinin also inhibits platelet aggregation and promotes blood coagulation.
