CAS:Dihydro-Simvastatin is a synthetic medicine that inhibits the synthesis of cholesterol by competitively inhibiting the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase. The synthesis process involves the reaction of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) with acetoacetyl CoA to form 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG) and acetoacetate. The hydroxyl group on the HMG molecule is then oxidized to a ketone to produce dihydro simvastatin. Impurities in this product are due to side reactions involving hydroxyl groups and lactones.Purity:Min. 95%Ref: 3D-FD166751
