    1,3-Dichloro-butene is a chlorinated hydrocarbon that has a high resistance to chlorine and hydrochloric acid. It can be used as an organic solvent for dry cleaning, degreasing metals, and various other applications. 1,3-Dichloro-butene is also used in the catalytic asymmetric synthesis of propiolic acid. The reaction product of this process is hydrogen chloride. The chlorine atom in this compound reacts with the nucleophile (HCl) to form the products: 1) chloride ion; 2) organometallic compounds; 3) kinetic data; 4) chlorine atom; 5) chloride ion; 6) hydrochloric acid.
