Haegtftsd is a peptide analog of human glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1). It has been shown to have the same structure as GLP-1 and the same antidiabetic activity. Haegtftsd has a cyclic peptide structure that is resistant to proteolytic degradation in the gastrointestinal tract, which may increase its duration of action. It is not known whether haegtftsd has any other effects on metabolism or if it can be safely used for chronic oral administration.
