3,5-Diisobutyl-1,2,4-trithiolane
CAS:3,5-Diisobutyl-1,2,4-trithiolane is a volatile organic compound that is liquid at room temperature. It has been identified as an α-tocopherol degradation product. The identification of 3,5-Diisobutyl-1,2,4-trithiolane was performed by GC/MS analysis of extracts from oxidized lipids and volatiles from thermally oxidized alkylpyrazines. This compound is formed during the oxidation of α-tocopherols under acidic conditions with thermal treatment. There are two mechanisms for the formation of 3,5-Diisobutyl-1,2,4-trithiolane: it can be generated by the reaction between aldehyde and cysteine or it can be generated by the reaction between α-tocopherol and lipid peroxidation products.Formula:C10H20S3Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:236.46 g/mol
