Tert-Butyl (5-bromopyridin-3-yl)methylcarbamate is a chemical that is used in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. It can be converted to an n-oxide by treatment with nitric acid, which is then converted to the corresponding amine by reaction with ammonia. Tert-Butyl (5-bromopyridin-3-yl)methylcarbamate has been shown to efficiently convert to the bioconversion product, 5-(tert-butoxycarbonylamino)-2,4,6-trimethylpyridine.
