(E)-N-[2-(3-Indolyl)ethyl]-3-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)acrylamide (Ketanserin) is a drug used for the treatment of inflammatory diseases. Ketanserin has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on the release of serotonin, which may be responsible for its anti-inflammatory properties. This compound also inhibits the 5-HT1 and 5-HT2A receptors, which are involved in inflammation. Ketanserin has been shown to reduce plasma concentrations of TNF-α and IL-6 and insulin resistance in mice with obesity.
