(2’S)-2’-Deoxy-2’-fluoro-5-ethynyluridine
CAS:Controlled ProductApplications (2′S)-2′-Deoxy-2′-fluoro-5-ethynyluridine is a commonly used probe for DNA synthesis in vivo as it exhibits minimal impact on genome function in diverse tissue types. (2′S)-2′-deoxy-2′-fluoro-5-ethynyluridine is also ideally suited for metabolic DNA labeling when prolonged cell survival and undisturbed cell cycle progression are necessary, such as for pulse-chase experiments aimed at “birth dating” DNA in vivo. CAS:(2’S)-2’-Deoxy-2’-fluoro-5-ethynyluridine is a mutagen that is used as a labeling agent for DNA. It is incorporated into the mammalian cell genome and can be visualized under microscopy. This compound has been shown to induce mutations in stem cells and is hypothesized to cause cancer by altering the structure of the DNA template. The mutagenicity of this compound has been demonstrated by quantifying the number of mutations in mammalian cells and by labeling bromodeoxyuridine with (2’S)-2’-deoxy-2’-fluoro-5-ethynyluridine. The fluorescence intensity increases when it binds to dsDNA, which can be measured using fluorescent microscopy.Formula:C11H11FN2O5Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:270.21 g/mol
