This monomer may be polymerized with other vinyl monomers, such as 2-vinylpyridine and 2-vinylpyrrolidone, to form polyvinyl. N-(2,2-Dimethoxyethyl)-2-methylpropenamide can also be used for hydrophilizing silicone rubber or c-reactive protein.
