CAS 96563-01-8: S-(2-chloro-1,1,2-trifluoroethyl)-L-cysteine

S-(2-Chloro-1,1,2-Trifluoroethyl)cysteine is a thiol derivative that has been shown to inhibit the transport of sodium ions in the proximal tubules of the kidney. It is also able to reduce levels of natriuretic peptide and protect against myocardial infarction and congestive heart failure in animal models. This drug also reduces levels of hydrogen fluoride in coronary blood vessels. S-(2-Chloro-1,1,2-Trifluoroethyl)cysteine has many other potential applications, including as a cardioprotective agent during angiography or as a thrombectomy adjunct for acute myocardial infarction.
