3-((4'-Mercapto)Butylthio)-1,1,1-Trifluoropropan-2-One
CAS:3-((4'-Mercapto)Butylthio)-1,1,1-Trifluoropropan-2-One (MBT) is a chemical compound that is found in the environment and may have the potential to cause cancer. The 3D structure of MBT has been determined using a combination of nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography. In addition to its carcinogenic properties, MBT has also been shown to be an effective ligand for affinity chromatography. It binds with high affinity to cardiac tissue and cardiac cells in culture, which may be due to its similarity to catecholamines like dopamine. Furthermore, it has been shown that MBT induces cell death in pancreatic cancer cells by inhibiting protein synthesis via inhibition of the ribosome.Formula:C7H11F3OS2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:232.29 g/mol
