Undec-2-ene-8,10-diynoic acid isobutylamide (P) is a purpurea and a derivative of the natural product undec-2-ene-8,10-diynoic acid. P has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It also has anti-inflammatory properties and may be effective in treating diabetes. The pharmacokinetics of P have been studied in rats after intravenous injection. It was found that the maximum concentration (Cmax) and area under the curve (AUC) were 2.0 µg/mL and 0.6 µg·h/mL, respectively, with a half life of about 4 hours.
