Sulfathiazole sodium sesquihydrate may also be used for the treatment of necropsy lesions in horses, as well as throat infections in humans. The onset of symptoms usually occurs after a few days or weeks, but can occur within hours. Symptoms include fever, headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, distal muscle weakness and respiratory distress.
