5-Benzoyl-2-(2,4,6-trichlorophenyl)-1,2-dihydro-3H-1,2,4-triazol-3-one is an antifungal agent that inhibits the growth of fungi by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol. It is a surfactant and has been shown to be active against Candida albicans and other yeast. 5BPTT has been shown to be effective in treating inflammatory diseases such as asthma. 5BPTT has also been shown to inhibit the production of neurokinin 1 (NK1) receptor in cells. This inhibition can lead to decreased inflammation and pain.
