(2S)-2-[(4-Chlorophenyl)amino]propanoic acid is a 5-HT antagonist that is used to prevent premature ovulation in animals. It has been shown to inhibit the synthesis of serotonin and 5-hydroxytryptamine, which may be due to its ability to inhibit platelet activation. This drug also inhibits the oxidation of monoamines (e.g., dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin), which may be due to its ability to inhibit monoamine oxidase (MAO).
