Beschreibung:2-(2-cyanophenoxy)acetamide (CPA) is a condensation product of salicylic acid and acetic anhydride. It is used as a fungicide and herbicide, most commonly in the form of its sodium salt. CPA has been shown to inhibit the growth of various fungi, including Botrytis cinerea, Fusarium moniliforme, and Alternaria alternata. The mechanism by which CPA inhibits fungal growth is not well understood but may involve the conversion of CPA to acetanilide through hydrolysis or oxidation. CPA also prevents the formation of polyketides in plants and inhibits their synthesis in bacteria.
