Beschreibung:The objective of this study was to develop a predictive algorithm for the diagnosis of congenital cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection in infants. The algorithm, which is based on maternal blood and infant blood samples, was developed using logistic regression with a validation dataset. The algorithm has been evaluated on a large dataset of infants and found to have good clinical relevance. It can be used as an alternative screening test for CMV infection in infants born to mothers who are at risk for having the virus, such as those carrying HCMV or HIV.
