Beschreibung:5-Fluoro-N-(5-hydroxyhexyl)-2,4-dioxopyrimidine-1-carboxamide is an antitumour agent that has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro. The mechanism of action of this drug is not known, but it may be due to its ability to inhibit DNA synthesis and cell division. 5-Fluoro-N-(5-hydroxyhexyl)-2,4-dioxopyrimidine-1-carboxamide also inhibits the production of ascitic fluid and cirrhosis tissue in animals. This drug is orally active and can be used as a marker for bacterial infections. Liquid chromatography monitoring has been used to detect the presence of 5FDOP in urine and serum samples.
