It is used as a pesticide and animal health product. N-(2-Methyl-2-Propen-1-Yl)-2,6-Dinitro-N-Propyl 4-(Trifluoromethyl) Aniline has been shown to inhibit the biosynthesis of fatty acids in animals and plants, primarily by blocking the synthesis of acetyl coenzyme A (acetyl CoA). This prevents the formation of long chain fatty acids from short chain fatty acids. This compound also inhibits lipid biosynthesis in plants by inhibiting phospholipase A 2 .
